A extended cruise circling the Land Down Under is being halted in the wake of the tragic passing of an older woman who was left behind by the vessel on a distant tropical isle.

The passenger had been walking on the tropical location with other travelers from the vessel, but broke off from the group for a rest. The liner sailed away leaving her and came back several hours later after the crew realised the woman was not present.

A large-scale hunt discovered her body the next day.

Officials are looking into the tragedy, together with law enforcement and the state coroner.

Chief Executive of the voyage organizer announced that passengers and crew on the vessel were informed that the continuation of the voyage had been terminated due to the "tragic passing and previous engine troubles".

Via official communication, he added that guests would be issued a full refund, and said the organization was working "to coordinate the return journeys of the travelers via specially arranged planes".

Officials also issued an updated announcement, and said they had "delivered a notice to the Commander" banning any further travelers from entering the vessel.

The representative said that they would attend the ship in Cairns upon its arrival.

Sequence of Events

The ship originally sailed from the coastal city on October 24th, and was only 48 hours into the expedition at the point of the elderly woman's death. The tropical location was the initial destination on the itinerary.

Passengers on the ship - who usually pay tens of thousands of dollars to take part in the expedition - were ferried there for a shore visit with the possibility of walking or underwater exploration.

Relatives Statement

The offspring of the deceased woman said that her loved ones was "stunned and distressed that the liner left the location after an scheduled outing without my mum".

Via her announcement, she described her parent as an "active 80-year-old" who was a member of a hiking club.

"From the little facts we have been informed, it looks that there was a breakdown of care and common sense," she stated.

She continued that she desired the investigation would be able to pinpoint what "the company should have undertaken that might have protected Mum's being".

"According to reports from the police that it was a extremely warm afternoon, and mother became unwell on the hill climb," she revealed.

"They requested her to head down, alone. Then the ship departed, seemingly without conducting a roll call.
