Tehran is ready to reinitiate nuclear talks with the United States provided that it is approached with "respect" and "honor", Tehran's top diplomat has stated.

Abbas Araghchi said only diplomacy produced results, and disclosed new appeals had originated from intermediaries to reopen talks with the Trump administration. He asserted Iran did not have unreported enrichment locations, and Tehran had not yet reached a point to allow the International Atomic Energy Agency to access bombed nuclear sites for protective measures.

Walking a Challenging Path

Araghchi is navigating a complex course since Iran wishes not to be seen to be proceeding from a stance of vulnerability, and he consistently maintained that Iran had arisen more powerful in military terms and psychologically from the coordinated strike on its nuclear sites in June.

He was talking at a strategic meeting in Tehran where he restated that Iran had "an inalienable right to process nuclear material domestically that it will always maintain" – the primary cause of the deadlock in the previous talks.
